Anycubic Kobra 3 V2 + ACE Pro — Material Settings Reference Multi-color FDM. CoreXY. ACE Pro 4-filament hub. Main workhorse for functional parts, multi-color prints, and prototypes. Hardware Specs Build volume: 250 × 250 × 260 mm Motion: CoreXY | Extruder: Direct drive, dual-gear Nozzle: 0.4 mm hardened steel (stock) | Max temp: 300°C Bed: PEI spring steel, magnetic | Max temp: 110°C Slicer: Orca Slicer (recommended) or Anycubic Slicer Firmware: Klipper-based -- PLA (Standard) Notes: Most forgiving material. Stringing on multicolor: increase retraction to 1.0–1.2 mm. PLA+ runs 5°C hotter. Matte PLA needs 225°C and slightly slower speeds. -- PLA+ / PLA Pro Notes: Better layer adhesion and impact resistance than standard PLA. Slightly more prone to stringing. Good for brackets, enclosures, snap fits. -- PETG Notes: Hygroscopic — dry before printing (65°C, 6 hrs). Sticks hard to PEI — use glue stick or lower bed to 75°C if removing parts is difficult. Great for mechanical parts, brackets, outdoor use. Stringing is common; keep retraction high and travel speed fast (200 mm/s). -- TPU (Flexible, Shore 95A) Notes: Direct drive handles TPU well. Print slow — 35 mm/s max or you'll get clogs. Disable or minimize retraction to avoid grinding. No ACE Pro for TPU — load single-filament direct. Shore 85A = even slower (20 mm/s). Dry at 50°C 4 hrs if moisture issues. -- ABS Notes: Warps badly without enclosure. Brim of 8–10 mm required on anything over 50 mm. Fumes — print in ventilated area or outside. ABS-acetone slurry on bed helps adhesion. Excellent for parts that need post-processing (acetone smoothing), heat resistance up to 100°C. -- ASA Notes: UV-stable ABS alternative. Use for anything outdoors. Same printing pain as ABS but worth it. Slightly less warp-prone than ABS. Good for car parts, outdoor mounts, enclosure handles. -- PLA-CF / PETG-CF (Carbon Fiber Filled) Notes: Abrasive — destroys brass nozzles fast. Already on hardened steel. Stiffer, lighter than base material. Good surface finish. Higher strength-to-weight. Use for tooling, jigs, brackets. -- PA/Nylon Notes: Extremely hygroscopic. Print same day as drying. Excellent impact/abrasion resistance. Bed adhesion is tricky — PEI with glue stick or Garolite sheet. PA12 is easier than PA6. Good for gears, hinges, functional wear parts. -- PVA (Support Soluble) Notes: ACE Pro use — PVA in one channel, main material in another. Dissolves in water (warm water speeds it up). Keep bone dry — absorbs moisture within hours of opening. Print PVA slower and cooler than PLA. Compatible with PLA supports. Store with desiccant sealed. -- Multi-Color / ACE Pro Tips Color change purge: 80–120 mm³ purge block minimum per color swap. More for light→dark transitions. Purge into support: Enable in Orca Slicer to avoid large purge towers. Tension: Keep filament paths short and straight to the ACE Pro hub. Humidity: The hub has no dryer — pre-dry hygroscopic materials. Speed during swap: ACE Pro slows print during color change — normal. Max colors: 4 via hub, can extend to 8+ with manual swaps. -- Calibration / Tuning First layer: Z-offset critical — live adjust first layer to slight squish PA (Pressure Advance): 0.02–0.06 for PLA, 0.04–0.08 for PETG, 0.0 for TPU Flow rate: Calibrate per filament spool — 0.95–1.05 typical range Retraction tune: Print retraction tower per material Temp tower: Run for new brands — find sweet spot for each -- Common Issues
