Choosing the Right CNC Bit
- Up-Cut: Pulls chips UP. Best for clearing deep pockets. Can splinter the top surface.
- Down-Cut: Pushes chips DOWN. Leaves a perfect top finish. Not for deep pockets (clogs).
- Compression: A mix of both. Best for plywood; leaves clean edges on top and bottom.
- Ball Nose: Rounded tip. Used for 3D contours and carvings.
- V-Bit: Pointed tip. Used for signs, text, and chamfering.
