Compensating for the Laser Beam
The laser 'Kerf' is the amount of material the beam removes. For a typical 10W diode:
- Plywood: 0.15mm - 0.20mm
- Acrylic: 0.10mm - 0.12mm
- Paper: 0.05mm
Tip: If you want a 10mm hole to be exactly 10mm, you must tell the laser to offset its path by half the kerf (approx 0.08mm).
