Janka Hardness (Hobbyist CNC) Pine: 380 - Easy to cut, prone to fuzzing. Cherry: 950 - Beautiful finish, moderate speeds. Oak: 1290 - Hard, requires stiff machine. Maple: 1450 - Very hard, prone to burning if bit is dull. Ipe: 3600+ - Extreme. Will destroy cheap bits instantly.
