Workshop: Thread Locker Types
Loctite / Thread Locker Guide Purple (222): Low strength. For small screws (<1/4") or electronics. Blue (242/243): Medium strength. Removable with hand tools. Most common. Red (271): High strength. Permanent. Requires heat (500F) to remove. Green (290): Wicking grade. Applied after the bolt is already tightened.
