Magnetic Sheet
Overview
Flexible magnetic sheet material (often called magnet sheet or flexible magnet) is a rubber-based material impregnated with ferrite magnetic particles. It can be laser cut into custom shapes for refrigerator magnets, vehicle signage, craft projects, and educational materials. Magnetic sheet comes in various thicknesses from 0.3mm to 1.5mm and can be purchased with adhesive backing or printable surfaces. It cuts cleanly at low laser power and is safe to process with proper ventilation. The magnetic backing allows finished pieces to stick to any ferrous metal surface.

Pros
- Flexible and easy to remove prints
- Reusable surface
- Good for flexible filaments
- Quick print removal
- Compatible with many materials
Cons
- Can lose magnetism over time
- Not suitable for high-temp materials above 80°C
- May warp with heat
- Requires magnetic bed base
- Can interfere with inductive probes
Best For
- Flexible filaments (TPU
- TPE)
- quick prototyping
- frequent print removal
- low-temp materials
Avoid For
- High-temperature materials (ABS
- PC
- PA)
- applications requiring perfectly flat surface
- high-precision parts
Laser Compatibility
Magnetic sheet can be cut and engraved on CO2 laser. CO2: cut 1mm at 400mm/s 30W; engrave 500mm/s 25%. Diode: cut 300mm/s 80%; engrave 500mm/s 60%. Produces rubber-like fumes — ventilate well. Results in clean-edged flexible magnets for custom signage, labels, and organisers. Avoid high power — causes excessive burning and warping.
