Overview
PC-ABS is a blend of Polycarbonate and ABS that combines the heat resistance and toughness of PC with the processability and lower warping of ABS. It offers higher temperature resistance than ABS alone while being easier to print than pure PC. Widely used in automotive and aerospace applications. Good impact strength with better layer adhesion than pure PC.

Pros
  • Best of PC and ABS, impact resistant, heat stable, better printability than pure PC
Cons
  • Requires enclosure, high temps, warps without enclosure, needs dry storage
Best For
  • Automotive parts
  • high-temp enclosures
  • drone components
  • functional prototypes
  • tooling fixtures
  • parts needing impact + heat resistance
Laser Compatibility
LASER INTERACTION Safety: DANGER — combines the hazards of both PC and ABS. Fumes: BPA (from PC), styrene (from ABS), hydrogen cyanide (from ABS), plus synergistic combustion products. The combination is particularly dangerous. Warning: Worst of both worlds for laser safety. Absolute no.
