Pros
- Lower print temp than PEEK (335 vs 400°C)
- Excellent chemical resistance
- High strength and stiffness
- Biocompatible grades available
- Excellent fatigue resistance
Cons
- Extremely high print temperature
- Requires all-metal hotend and industrial printer
- Very expensive
- Demands high-temp enclosure (>100°C chamber)
- Limited brands and colors
- Difficult to process consistently
Best For
- Aerospace structural parts|Medical implants|Oil and gas seals|Extreme temperature applications|High-performance prototypes
Avoid For
- Desktop consumer printers|Budget builds|Any standard printing environment
Storage
Dry storage mandatory — PEKK absorbs moisture rapidly. Dry at 150°C for 4 hours before printing. Store in sealed container with active desiccant.
