Overview
Crystal-clear filament with excellent transparency and better chemical resistance than PETG. PET is the base polymer — PETG is PET modified with glycol. Harder to print than PETG but offers superior clarity for optical and chemical applications.

Pros
- Crystal-clear optical transparency
- Excellent chemical resistance to acids and bases
- Higher rigidity than PETG
- Good layer adhesion with correct settings
- Food-safe (with food-safe colorants and proper print parameters)
Cons
- Very hygroscopic — must be kept dry
- High warping tendency on large parts
- Stringing issues at higher temps
- Very limited commercial availability vs PETG
- Slower print speeds than PETG
- Requires enclosed printer
Best For
- Clear containers|Chemical storage prototypes|Food packaging models|Transparent optical parts|Chemical lab equipment
Avoid For
- Large flat parts without enclosure|Outdoor UV exposure|Flexible applications
Storage
Extremely hygroscopic. Dry at 65°C for 6+ hours before printing. Store vacuum-sealed with fresh desiccant immediately after opening. Even brief air exposure degrades print quality.
