Overview
High Impact Polystyrene — lightweight, easy to sand and paint, dissolves in d-limonene (used as soluble support for ABS). Can also be printed standalone. Print 220-245°C nozzle, 90-110°C bed.

Laser Compatibility
LASER INTERACTION
Safety: DANGER — HIPS releases styrene and benzene derivatives when burned.
Fumes: HIPS is High Impact Polystyrene — same base polymer as ABS's styrene component. Releases styrene (probable carcinogen) and other aromatic compounds.
Warning: Never laser HIPS. The styrene release is essentially the same hazard as part of the ABS warning.
