Pros
- Stiffer than plain PETG
- Better heat resistance than PLA-CF
- Chemical resistant
- Easier to print than PA-CF
- Good layer adhesion
Cons
- Requires hardened nozzle
- Rough surface
- Black color only mostly
- More expensive than PETG
- Hygroscopic
Best For
- Functional enclosures
- structural clips
- brackets needing stiffness + chemical resistance
- outdoor fixtures
Avoid For
- Smooth surface needs
- dynamic flex parts
- standard brass nozzles
Storage
Dry 4-6h @ 65°C. More moisture-sensitive than plain PETG. Store sealed.
Laser Compatibility
LASER INTERACTION
Safety: CAUTION to AVOID — combines PETG thermal issues with carbon fiber particle release.
CO2 engrave: 450mm/s @ 10% maximum — conservative only
Result: Poor engraving quality due to CF inclusions deflecting melt pattern. Not recommended.
Fumes: PETG VOCs plus carbon fiber particles. Requires HEPA + respirator.
Warning: The combination of melt flow and CF particles creates unpredictable results and higher hazard. Avoid laser processing PETG-CF parts.
