Natural slate stone — produces stunning permanent white marks on its dark grey-black surface. The laser ablates the dark mineral surface to reveal lighter rock beneath. Cannot be cut with a laser but engraving results are professional and completely weatherproof. Ideal for outdoor signage and permanent awards.

Laser Compatibility
CO2: 100-200mm/s, 50-80% — much slower and higher power than wood. Multiple passes increase contrast and whiteness. Diode 20W: 500mm/s 100% multiple passes — works but CO2 gives far superior results. Air assist on to clear stone dust. Wipe clean with damp cloth post-engrave. Seal with slate sealer for outdoor use. The white mark is an ablation of the dark surface layer — irreversible.
