New: Pin Anything, and a Real Shareable Profile (Link-Tree Included)
Two things worth knowing if you've got a free 1c3d account (or are thinking about making one): pinning and your public profile got a real upgrade.
Pin Anything on the Site
Every how-to, note, device, and material page now has a Pin button right in the action bar. Building a Kobra 3 project and want to keep the SureServo2 Modbus guide, the filament drying guide, and a specific CNC bit reference all in one place? Pin them. They show up on your own Pinned page, sorted by whenever you added them — no more digging back through search history to find that one guide you read three weeks ago.
A Real, Shareable Public Profile
Every account gets a public profile at 1c3d.com/profile/yourusername — and it's not just a name and a join date. You can set:
- A bio, location, and website
- Your maker setup (what printer, laser, CNC you're actually running)
- Specialties and experience level
- What you're open to — collabs, commissions, chat, feedback
- Gaming handles (Steam, Xbox, PSN, Epic, Discord)
The Link-Tree Section
The part worth calling out specifically: your profile has its own linktree-style link list. Add your GitHub, your Etsy shop, your YouTube channel, your portfolio site — whatever you want people to find — each with a custom label and icon, reorderable, and each one individually toggleable between public and private. It's genuinely yours to arrange however you want, and it's one link you can drop anywhere (a forum signature, a business card, an Instagram bio) that actually represents everything you're doing.
Head to Settings to fill yours out, or just start pinning things as you browse — both are live right now for every registered account.
