CNC Bit Reference — Genmitsu MC40A — Flat Upcut 2-Flute (Nano Blue)
Notes
Standard go-to bit for wood, MDF, and plywood. Upcut pulls chips clear of cut.
Feeds & Speeds (Wolfpawn 4040 Pro, 3.175mm cutting dia):
RPM: 10000
Feed rate: 800–1200 mm/min
Depth of cut: 1.0–1.5mm per pass
Plunge rate: 300 mm/min
For 2.0mm cutting dia:
RPM: 10000
Feed rate: 400–600 mm/min
Depth of cut: 0.5–0.8mm per pass
Material adjustments:
Hardwood: reduce feed 30%, DOC 0.8mm max
Acrylic: RPM 8000, feed 600mm/min, single flute preferred but this works
Aluminium: not recommended — insufficient spindle torque at these speeds
Tips
Replace when you see burn marks or hear chatter — these are consumables.
Buy in bulk; individual bits from Amazon are cheap.
Shank runout increases with wear; check concentricity if finish degrades.
