Integrating Material Test Files in LightBurn
The Goal of Material Testing
Every new material requires specific parameters. Running a full-grid material test saves time and material by visualizing the interaction between Speed and Power.
Workflow
1. In LightBurn, navigate to Laser Tools > Material Test. 2. Set your parameters: 3. Axes: Use 'Speed' on the X-axis (e.g., 50-200mm/s) and 'Max Power' on the Y-axis (e.g., 10-90%). 4. Specify the interval (gap between lines) and grid size (e.g., 10x10). 5. Run the test file on a scrap piece. The resulting grid provides a visual matrix, allowing you to quickly select the precise settings for cutting, marking, or engraving that material.
