What You Need Raspberry Pi 3B+, 4, or 5 (3B+ is sufficient) MicroSD card (16GB+ Class 10 or better) USB cable to connect to your printer Same WiFi network as your computer Step 1 — Flash OctoPi OctoPi is Raspberry Pi OS pre-loaded with OctoPrint. 1. Download Raspberry Pi Imager (rpi.imager) 2. Click Choose OS → Other specific-purpose OS → 3D printing → OctoPi 3. Select your SD card 4. Click the ⚙️ settings icon (gear) — configure: - WiFi SSID and password - Hostname: octopi.local - Enable SSH - Username: pi, set a password 5. Click Write Step 2 — First Boot 1. Insert SD card into Pi, connect printer via USB, power on Pi 2. Wait 2–3 minutes for first boot (resizes filesystem) 3. On your computer, go to: http://octopi.local 4. OctoPrint setup wizard appears Step 3 — Setup Wizard 1. Access control: Create your admin username and password 2. Connectivity check: Let it check for updates 3. Printer profile: - Name: Kobra 3 V2 - Bed: 250 × 250 × 260mm - Baud rate: 250000 (try 115200 if issues) 4. Click through remaining steps Step 4 — Connect to Printer In OctoPrint dashboard: 1. Connection panel (top left) 2. Port: /dev/ttyUSB0 or /dev/ttyACM0 (auto-detect if unsure) 3. Baud rate: 250000 4. Click Connect 5. Terminal tab should show printer response Essential Plugins Install via Settings → Plugin Manager → Get More: Remote Access Without Port Forwarding Install OctoEverywhere plugin — provides a secure tunnel so you can access OctoPrint from outside your home network without exposing your Pi to the internet.
