PEI Sheet
Overview
PEI (Polyetherimide) is the gold standard FDM 3D printer bed surface. It offers excellent adhesion for most common filaments (PLA, PETG, ABS, TPU) without requiring additional adhesives like glue sticks or hairspray. When heated, PEI grips prints firmly; when cooled, prints release cleanly with minimal effort. PEI is available as a self-adhesive sheet applied to a spring steel flex plate or as a solid sheet. The textured PEI variant leaves a fine pattern on the print bottom. PEI is durable, heat resistant, and works across a wide temperature range.

Pros

Cons
- Some flexible filaments bond too aggressively on smooth PEI, can delaminate on cheap sheets
