Bambu Lab P1S
Buying notes: Bambu Lab P1S
Who it suits
Hobbyists who want an enclosed machine that works with little setup, including those printing ABS or ASA. Reviewers call it reliable and say failures usually trace to user error.
Known issues and quirks
The stock nozzle is not recommended for fiber-filled filaments until the hotend and extruder gear are swapped for hardened parts. The chamber is heated only passively, so large nylon or polycarbonate parts may warp. Some forum users report clogs, stringing and mid-print failures after 01.08-series firmware, and at least one fixed it by rolling back.
Common upgrades and accessories
The AMS for multicolor, a filament dryer, a spare PEI plate and a hardened high-flow nozzle for abrasive filaments.
Tips
For ABS and ASA, heat the bed fully and let the chamber warm for 15 to 20 minutes. Replace the carbon filter about every three months with regular use. LAN Only plus Developer Mode lets Orca Slicer connect with the printer's IP and access code. Consider waiting on firmware updates until others report on them.
