The Problem Without Macros Mid-job tool change without macros: 1. Machine stops at M6 2. You manually jog to a safe position 3. Swap bit 4. Try to remember where Z was 5. Probably wrong — ruins the job Required UGS Macros Macro 1: Safe Park for Tool Change gcode G91 ; relative mode G1 Z10 F1000 ; raise Z 10mm G90 ; back to absolute G0 X0 Y0 ; go to front-left M5 ; spindle off Macro 2: Resume After Tool Change gcode G91 G1 Z-5 F500 ; lower toward work G90 ; Operator re-zeros Z here manually Setting Up in UGS 1.
