Laser Compatibility
LASER INTERACTION
Safety: SAFE — matte PLA uses chalk/calcium carbonate filler which is inert.
CO2 engrave: 250-350mm/s @ 18-22% — absorbs more energy than glossy PLA
Diode 20W engrave: 2500mm/min @ 40% — excellent results, matte surface absorbs diode wavelength well
Result: Outstanding contrast. Matte surface absorbs laser energy more consistently than glossy. One of the best FDM materials for laser marking.
Fumes: Same as PLA — safe with standard ventilation.
Tips: Reduce power slightly vs standard PLA. The chalk filler increases energy absorption. Excellent for QR codes and fine detail marks.
