Monthly Laser Maintenance Routine Smoke and debris will quickly degrade your laser's power and precision if left unchecked. 1. Lens Cleaning Use a specialized lens tissue and IPA. Wipe in a single direction once. Never scrub, as tiny particles can scratch the coating. 2. Rail Lubrication Clean the X and Y rails with a dry cloth. Apply a tiny amount of 'White Lithium Grease' or 'Sewing Machine Oil'. 3. Belt Tension Check for 'sag' in the belts. They should 'thrum' like a guitar string when plucked but not be overly tight. 4. Air Assist Filter If using a compressor, check the moisture trap. Water in your air assist will ruin your lens and your wood cuts.
